Hello world,

Welcome to Finding Kokoro. I started this project to tell my story and document my quest to find kokoro, which roughly translates as “the place where the heart, the mind, and the spirit meet”. You might call this a digital diary. The way it works: every so often, I will publish a small collection of photos and essays from my archives that capture my current sense of kokoro.

A little bit about me: I was born in 1993 in NYC and currently reside in Brooklyn. I also own a plot of land in the Catskills, so you might catch me there sometimes — and elsewhere, traveling. I am an amateur photographer, but I am lucky enough to shoot Leica’s, primarily the Q3 and SL2 (digital) and the M6 (film), along with a suite of both modern and vintage lenses. My current favorite lens is the Noctilux-M 75mm f1.25.

Anyway, I hope that if you follow along, you will be inspired to explore your own kokoro, or at least enjoy some pretty pictures 🙂

Thank you for looking!

Nic
